
Shuhana Shamsuddin
Dr. Shuhana Shamsuddin is a retired Professor in Urban Design at UTM, founder and currently President, of the Malaysian Urban Design Association (PEREKABANDAR). She was an Adjunct Professor at UTM and now an Adjunct Professor at Taylors University. She was trained in Environmental Planning and Urban Design in UK. She won the Royal Town Planning Institute (UK) prize for academic excellence, research awards and international urban design competitions as well as an expert group member of UN Habitat to review the City Prosperity Index. She was featured in a poster exhibition of ‘Malaysian female faces in sustainable places’ at MIT USA and at the poster exhibition of "Distinctive Women Scientist in Malaysia" at Pusat Sains Negara. She was the lead consultant for Kuala Lumpur Heritage Trail Master Plan (DBKL), the Tertiary Area Study for UNESCO World Heritage Sites of George Town and Melaka (Department of National Heritage Malaysia) and Urban Morphology for Melaka’s nominations to UNESCO World Heritage Site (Perzim). She was the author of the book "Townscape Revisited: Unravelling the character of the historic townscape in Malaysia," and a chapter on the Malaysian historic urban waterfront in the "Handbook of Waterfront Cities and Urbanism" published by Routledge in 2022.
